In this 2-hour introductory class, the participant will learn the fundamentals of a cooperative business. What is a co-op, what are the various types of co-ops, history of co-ops in the U.S., the international cooperative principles, how to use the cooperative model for any business, and learn why some say that cooperatives are a better way to business. Come to the class because you are curious, thinking of starting a cooperative business, or wondering how you can support economic democracy in our communities. The cost for this two hour class is $25.
This class is being taught by Dorian Gregory, CPA and Loan Officer for the Cooperative Fund of New England (CFNE), and a member-owner and board president of River Valley Coop. Since 1975, CFNE has been financing the cooperative economy in New England. This class will take place on Monday, May 9th from 6-8 pm at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School.
