Workshop: Upgrading to Windows 10
This workshop will introduce you to the new features in the Windows 10 operating system. You'll learn how to use the new Start button to access recently used apps, a list of all apps, your computer's settings, as well as login and shutdown options. You'll also learn how to manage tiles in the Windows 10 Start menu to easily access apps and features. You'll learn to create or turn off tile groups, resize and move tiles, resize the Start menu, or use the full screen option. Since Settings has a completely new look in Windows 10, the workshop will cover personalization options, themes, desktop options, and notifications available in the new Action Center. You'll also practice using the new Search box to search your computer or the Web. You'll learn to use the new features in the Windows 10 File Explorer, including the Quick Access menu and the new File Explorer ribbon. The workshop will also cover Cortana, the Windows 10 "personal assistant" that you can use to manage your calendar, search for files or information, or chat with you. Cortana can be used with or without a microphone. Finally, you'll review the new features in Microsoft Edge, the new web browser built into Windows 10.
